Erin Schanning is a big sister who lost her little brother, Ethan, to an overdose. Prior to founding End Substance Use Disorder, Erin was a lawyer, a business leader, and a political organizer who helped thousands of Americans secure good-paying jobs.
After Ethan’s death, Erin was surprised to learn that there are proven policies to save lives and support healing that the government and healthcare systems have not yet adopted. She believes her brother and hundreds of thousands of other loved ones could be alive today if the United States had followed other advanced countries in enacting these common-sense solutions to promote prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery.
Erin holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University.
